Fulton County Jury Returns Defense Verdict in Three-Vehicle Disputed Fault Accident
ATLANTA, Ga. — Following 31 minutes of deliberation, a Fulton County State Court jury returned a defense verdict on September 29, 2026, in favor of a client represented by Partner Brian Williams and Associate Ayanna Grant of Waldon Adelman Castilla McNamara & Prout.
The case stemmed from a three-vehicle collision involving three plaintiffs—two adults and one minor child—who alleged that our client was solely responsible for the incident. Plaintiffs explicitly denied the involvement of a third vehicle operated by an unidentified John Doe driver who fled the scene. Claiming neck and back injuries, the plaintiffs underwent treatment at an emergency room and AICA Orthopedics, with one plaintiff receiving an epidural steroid injection. Plaintiffs presented collective medical special damages of $37,752 and made a final pre-trial settlement demand of $56,628.
At trial, the defense successfully challenged the plaintiffs’ account of the incident. Williams systematically impeached the plaintiffs’ testimony using prior statements and the testimony of the investigating officer, whose recorded account was presented by Grant. Additionally, during cross-examination, the plaintiffs’ live medical expert witness—a treating chiropractor—admitted under oath that the plaintiffs had previously disclosed to him that the collision was caused by a non-party driver.
The jury deliberated for 31 minutes before delivering a complete defense verdict. Because the defense had previously served statutory Offers of Settlement that were rejected by the plaintiffs, Waldon Adelman can pursue attorney’s fees and litigation expenses.
