biography

With a diverse background spanning law, business, and sports management, Brian McCarthy joined the firm in 2018, focusing his practice on insurance defense, insurance coverage, motor vehicle liability, and civil/commercial litigation. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of Notre Dame and multiple advanced degrees from Georgia State University, including a Master of Science in sports administration, a Master of Business Administration, and a Juris Doctor.

Prior to joining the firm, Brian successfully operated his own general civil litigation practice for 14 years, representing individuals and small businesses across a wide array of matters. His legal acumen has been consistently recognized by his peers, who named him a Rising Star (2010-2014) and a Super Lawyer (since 2016) in Atlanta Magazine.

Earlier in his career, he contributed to major sporting events and organizations, including the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games and the Atlanta Falcons. He currently resides in Smyrna with his wife, Amy, and their four children, where he enjoys coaching, traveling, cooking on his Big Green Egg, and supporting Notre Dame athletics.
